Warrior Cats Game: Four Ways to Play in the Clans
If you are looking for a Warrior Cats game, there are four real ways to play one. There is an official Roblox world where you make a cat and join a Clan with other players. There is a brand-new official turn-based RPG released for consoles and PC in October 2026. There is the long tradition of fan-made and pretend-play Clan games that readers have run for twenty years. And there is a way to play inside Erin Hunter’s novels themselves, as your own cat, with a narrator that has read the book. Which one fits depends on whether you want friends online, a story campaign with battles, a game you invent yourself, or simply to stay in the forest after the last page.
This guide goes through all four, says who each suits, and ends with how to try the last one tonight.
What people mean by a Warrior Cats game
People who type “Warrior Cats game” usually want one of four things.
- You want to be a cat with other players. Pick a pelt, join ThunderClan, hunt and patrol with real people. That is the online wish.
- You want a proper video game. Quests, battles and a story campaign for your Clan. That is the console wish.
- You want to invent your own Clan. Name your cats, write your own prophecies, play with friends at school or in a forum. That is the make-believe wish, and it is how most readers first played.
- You want to be inside the books. You finished an arc, or all of them, and you are not ready to leave the forest. That is the reader’s wish.

The facts about the official games below were read in October 2026 from the licensor’s announcement, from the game’s release coverage and from Wikipedia’s article on the series.
Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition on Roblox
This is the game most younger fans mean. It is an official game, launched in 2021 by Coolabi, the company behind the series, with the Roblox studio Aldrich-Callen Studios. The licensor’s own announcement describes it this way:
The game is set in the Forest Territory from the book series and invites players to create and customize their own cat character, explore the world of Warriors, join a Clan and interact with other players to make their own Warrior Cats story.
It is free to play on Roblox, it runs on phones, tablets and computers, and the fun is mostly social: you meet other cats, form a Clan and act out scenes together.
Pick it if you want to play with friends and you like making a cat look exactly right. It is weaker for a reader who wants the books’ plot and characters. The world is the forest, but the story is whatever the players around you are doing that day, and nobody is keeping it true to the novels.
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, the new console RPG
The newest official game is a turn-based RPG, Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, developed by TRAILMARK Games and released on October 23, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. You design your own warrior and choose one of four Clans: ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan or WindClan. Release coverage describes each Clan as having its own story campaign built on its culture and traditions.
Pick it if you want a real video game with battles, a campaign and a cat you built yourself, played on a screen with a controller. It is weaker for a reader who wants to go anywhere the game does not. Like any designed campaign, its quests and fights are placed, and your choices happen inside the paths it offers.
Fan-made and pretend-play Clan games
Long before either official game, Warriors readers were already playing. Groups at school played Clans at break time, forums ran role-play Clans for years, and young coders built their own cat games on Scratch. You can still do all of this: pick a Clan, make up your cat’s name, decide who is leader, medicine cat and deputy, and tell the story together.
Pick it if you have friends who love the books as much as you do and want to invent everything. It is weaker for a solo reader. A pretend game only happens when the group is free, and someone has to keep track of who is in which Clan and what happened last time.
Playing inside the Warriors novels themselves
The fourth way is the newest, and it is the one built for the reader’s wish. You give a narrator a novel, and it reads the book before you begin: the territories, the cats, how each Clan speaks, what they know and what they hide. You make your own character, step into that world and type what you do. There is no list of choices. You can follow Firepaw’s road, cross it, or wander somewhere the book never went, and the narrator keeps the world consistent with what the book says.
This is what LLM RPG does. You upload a copy of a book you own, as a
.txt or .epub file, and it builds an atlas of the book’s world before your
first scene. Because it works from the text rather than from a preset, it works
for Into the Wild, for any later book in any arc, and for any other novel on your
shelf.
Some cats a reader might play:
- A ThunderClan apprentice who saw something at Snakerocks and told nobody.
- A RiverClan queen who is not sure her kits’ father is from her own Clan.
- A kittypet who keeps visiting the forest edge and wonders what Clan life is really like.
- A ShadowClan medicine cat who doubts the last sign from StarClan.
Pick it if what you miss after the last page is the world itself, and you would rather be a new cat in the forest than follow a set campaign. It is weaker for players who want pictures, a controller or a group. It is written and typed, like a patient storyteller who never tires. It also needs the book file, so you use your own copy.
One honest note about age. Many Warriors readers are younger than our service allows: you must be at least 13 to have an account. A younger reader is better served by the Roblox world or the console game, played with a grown-up’s say.
Where the books fit
It helps to know how much world there is to play in. Warriors is written under the shared pen name Erin Hunter, and HarperCollins published the first book in 2003. The main series now runs to nine arcs, from The Prophecies Begin through Changing Skies, which began in 2025. Each arc moves the Clans forward in time, and each book is a separate file, so a reader can play inside the old forest of the first arc or the lake territory of a later one as easily as inside Into the Wild.

How to start a Warrior Cats game tonight
If playing inside the books sounds right, this is the whole path.
- Try it with no account. Open a ready-made world and play five turns. A few minutes tells you whether typing your own actions suits you.
- Sign up with your email if it does. You get a one-time code, no password.
- Upload the book. Choose your copy of a Warriors novel as a
.txtor.epubfile. The narrator reads it and builds the world before you play. - Make your character. You are a new cat in the book’s world, so you can be anyone: an apprentice, an elder with a secret, a loner at the border.
- Type what you do. “I follow the scent of fox past the Owl Tree.” “I ask the medicine cat what the last dream really meant.” The narrator answers in the book’s voice and remembers what you did.
If you love other stories with animals and quests, our Chronicles of Narnia game guide follows the same idea, and solo role playing games covers playing alone more widely.
When one of the others is the better choice
Be honest about the evening you want. If you want to play a cat with your friends online, the Roblox world is the place, and it is free. If you want battles, a campaign and a controller in your hands, Clans of the Forest is the official game built for exactly that. If you have a group that loves to invent, a pretend-play Clan gives you stories nobody else will ever have.
A written game fits a different moment: you have just closed the book, you are not ready to leave the forest, and you want to stay in that world as yourself. That is the moment it was built for.
